Repair service terms

The conditions under which we receive, diagnose and repair devices brought to our workshop.

1. Scope

These conditions apply to all devices received by Doctor PC for diagnosis or repair, whether brought in person, sent by courier, or collected from the client's address.

Handing a device over for service constitutes acceptance of these conditions.

2. Diagnosis

Diagnosis is free of charge when the repair is subsequently carried out by Doctor PC. If, after diagnosis, the client declines the repair, a diagnostic fee may be charged, communicated in advance.

We begin no work before the estimate has been communicated and approved by the client. If additional faults affecting the price are found during the work, the job stops and the client is contacted.

3. Data on the device — very important

The client is responsible for backing up their own data beforehand. We strongly recommend making a backup before handing the device over.

Certain interventions — screen replacement, power connector, battery, mainboard repairs, operating system reinstall — can result in the loss of stored data (contacts, photos, messages, files), even where that is not the purpose of the work.

Doctor PC is not liable for data loss occurring in the course of work necessary to remedy the reported fault. On request, and where technically possible, we make a copy of the data before the intervention, as a separate service.

4. Turnaround time

The timeframe stated in the estimate is indicative and depends on parts availability. We notify you if it extends beyond the initial estimate.

Many simple jobs are completed the same day, including while you wait at our workshop.

5. Warranty on the work

Repairs carry a 90-day warranty covering labour and the part fitted by us.

The warranty does not cover:

  • new faults unrelated to the work carried out;
  • subsequent mechanical damage — drops, impacts, pressure;
  • liquid contact occurring after the device was handed back;
  • faults caused by improper power supply or surges;
  • work carried out afterwards by the client or a third party;
  • normal wear of consumable components such as batteries.

Seals applied by the workshop must not be damaged; removing them voids the warranty on the work.

6. Unrepairable devices

If diagnosis shows that a repair is not technically feasible or not economically justified, we tell you, along with the reason. The device is returned in the state it is in after the disassembly required for diagnosis.

For devices that reach us already worked on by someone else, we reserve the right to decline the job.

7. Collecting the device

We notify you as soon as the work is complete. Please collect the device within 30 days of notification.

After that period we may charge a storage fee. Devices left uncollected for 12 months after notification, despite at least two written notices, may be sold or recycled to cover costs, in accordance with the law.

8. Sending by courier

Devices may be sent by courier. Packing and shipping details are described on the Sending a device by courier page. The risk of damage in transit lies with the sender, which is why we recommend proper packing and insuring the parcel.

9. Payment

Payment is made when the device is collected, based on the approved estimate. For high-value or specially ordered parts we may request an advance, communicated beforehand.

10. Complaints

Any dissatisfaction regarding a job can be raised at office@doctor-pc.ro or +40 770 767 226. We review the situation and respond within 30 days at the latest.
