Data processing and storage

How we handle the data held on devices brought in for repair.

Why this page exists separately

The privacy policy covers the data you send us — name, email, phone. This page covers something else: the data held on the device you leave with us. These are different situations and deserve separate treatment.

Access to data on the device

Some interventions require access to the device's operating system: testing operation after a repair, diagnosing a software problem, or recovering data at your request.

In those situations:

  • we access strictly what is necessary for the requested work;
  • we do not open, copy or transmit personal files, unless you expressly ask us to recover them;
  • our staff are contractually bound to confidentiality.

Backups we make

When we copy data before a risky intervention, the copy is kept on separate workshop storage for up to 30 days after the device is handed back. After that period the copy is permanently deleted.

You may request immediate deletion of the copy at any time, once you have confirmed that the data transferred correctly onto your device.

Unclaimed devices

Before an unclaimed device is sold or recycled, under the conditions described in the repair service terms, its storage media are irreversibly erased or physically destroyed.

What we recommend

  • Back up your data before handing over the device.
  • If the device holds particularly sensitive data, tell us — we can agree a specific procedure.
  • Do not give us passwords unless the work genuinely requires them, and change them once the work is complete.
