They are caught by automated campaigns looking for weak passwords, unpatched systems and people in a hurry. Is that enough? An antivirus on each workstation, without central administration, means nobody knows whether all of them are active and current. In practice we always find a few machines left behind. Visibility makes the difference, not the product. ### We are a small company. Would anyone target us? Not personally. Automated campaigns scan without knowing who they find, and a small company is often easier to compromise than a large one. The cost of an incident does not scale down with company size. ### How long until we are covered? The basics — two-factor authentication, managed protection, verified backup — take two to three weeks for a typical company. The rest follows in stages, by the priorities from the assessment. ### Where do we start if we have nothing in place? With a short audit and the two measures that change the most: two-factor authentication on accounts and an isolated, tested backup.
