# Air conditioning installation

Most air conditioning failures come from the installation, not the unit: overlong pipe runs, insufficient vacuum, or badly routed condensate. We do the installation by the book, even when it takes longer.

## What is included

- **Correct installation** — Full vacuum, leak testing and a condensate route with continuous fall.
- **Choosing the unit** — We size capacity to room volume, orientation and insulation — not to square metres.
- **Cleaning** — Cleaning the indoor unit and coil, which fixes odours and restores efficiency.
- **Refrigerant charging** — Pressure checks and refrigerant top-up, with leak detection.
- **Service and repairs** — Diagnosis and repair for units that no longer cool or start intermittently.
- **Seasonal maintenance** — A check before the season, so the unit does not fail on the first 35-degree day.

### What we check on every installation

- Unit positioning, for service access and minimum noise
- System vacuum and leak test
- Continuous fall on the condensate route
- Correct outdoor unit mounting, with vibration damping
- Electrical supply and protections

At the end we commission the unit and check flow and return temperatures to confirm it runs to specification.

## Frequently asked questions

### How often should the unit be cleaned?

Once a year for domestic use, twice for commercial or dusty spaces. Cleaning also fixes unpleasant odours.

### Do you install units I bought myself?

Yes. We first check whether the chosen capacity suits the room — if not, we tell you before installing.

### How long does an installation take?

For a standard unit, a few hours. It takes longer if the copper run is long or if work at height is needed, and that appears in the quote beforehand, not on the invoice afterwards.

### How often should the unit be cleaned?

At least once a year, before the season. An uncleaned unit uses more power, cools less well and becomes a source of smells and allergens.
